The Real Dirt on Farmer John 2005 Watch Full Documentary Online

This is a great show. Grab your coffee and enjoy a real treat.

John, the farmer in question took over the farm from his father. He loved farming. In the 1970’s he fell in with the hippie movement and his farm became kind of a crash pad. Art. Farming. Being “spiritual”… maybe some pot smoking. Not clear.
But John nearly lost his farm. Had to sell off a large chunk of it to get out of hock.
His salvation came with some folks put pressure on him to let them in as CSA members.

CSA is a cool way to run your farm. CSA is Community Supported Agriculture.
People who are members feel connected to the farm… instead of just being a customer. When he needed help… surprisingly, many CSA members got their hands dirty with him. Building. Planting. Harvesting.

John is an artist and a farmer. His art shows up in the direction of this film.

Enjoy.
